Hey, I’m Dan — born and raised in Wisconsin, now living in the Dallas suburb of Irving with my wife Cynthia and our four cats (yes, four!). My journey into design and printing has been anything but straight-line. I started out as a math major in Florida, but quickly realized I loved using math without needing to know all the whys and hows. That led me to Los Angeles, then Dallas, where I found my groove as a bicycle mechanic before falling into the printing industry.

I’ve been in printing for over 30 years now, working my way up from wrenching bikes to running production equipment in a large public school district’s Graphics & Printing Department. Along the way, I’ve been grinding through college courses — cramming two years into ten — and I’m on track to finish my BA in Graphic Design this December. Why? Because the industry keeps evolving, I want to keep up and move forward.
Here’s what I bring to the table as a designer:
- Experience that counts: Three decades in printing means I know the ins and outs of production, pre-press, and wide-format work. I’ve seen the industry change and adapt, and I’m right there with it.
- A practical mindset: I’m hands-on and detail-oriented, running production equipment and making sure everything runs smoothly. I’m not just about ideas — I’m about making them happen.
- A lifelong learner: Going back to school while working full-time isn’t easy, but I’m committed to growing my skills and expanding my design toolkit to stay relevant and ready for what’s next.
When I’m not working or studying, you’ll find me playing Pokémon Go, crocheting, reading sci-fi, or binge-watching TV and YouTube with Cynthia. I’m easygoing, curious, and ready to bring my blend of experience and fresh design skills to new challenges. If you’re looking for a designer with real-world know-how, a solid work ethic, and a passion for industry evolution, let’s connect!
